SELOSOL 920

General Information

Because of their complicated shape, compact size, and mass production, many ceramic parts currently need improvement in the following areas:

  • Ceramic Performance
  • Dimensional Accuracy
  • Uniformity of Green Density

These improvements will be difficult to achieve while using currently available commercial lubricants.

Switching from current lubricant to SELOSOL 920, stearic acid emulsion typically produces the following performance and process simplification benefits:

  • Improves Green Strength
  • Attains Uniformity Easier
  • Abbreviates the Manufacturing Process
  • Improves Continuous Production Capability

SELOSOL 920 is especially effective in situations where a Spray Dry Method is used.

1. Advantages

a.  Decreases Variability

i.  Good Uniformity is attained through wet blending
ii.  Selosol 920 eliminates the need for strict humidity control.

b.  Abbreviates the Process
SELOSOL 920 allows for the elimination of the dry mixing       process.

c.  Decreases mold Abrasion
SELOSOL 920 allows the same green density with less
      pressure.

 2. Properties and Characteristics of SELOSOL 920
